Iran summoned the Chinese ambassador in Tehran, objecting to a joint U.A.E.-China statement on disputed islands claimed by Iran since 1971.
The islands, Abu Musa and Greater and Lesser Tunb, are under Iranian control but also claimed by the U.A.E., allied with Washington.
