Majority of New Yorkers Want Mayor Adams to Resign, Poll Says
Briefly

Dr. Lee Miringoff, director of the Marist Institute for Public Opinion, commented on the dire public perception, stating, "It's hard to imagine how Mayor Adams could be faring any worse in the court of public opinion. Not only do New York City residents think he has done something illegal, but they think he should resign or have Governor Hochul start the process of removing him from office."
Poll results indicate that 69% of New York City residents, including 71% of Democrats, believe Mayor Eric Adams should resign following his federal indictment, with only 30% wanting him to complete his term.
Adams' job approval has plummeted to only 26%, as 74% of residents express disapproval. This marks a significant drop from a 37% approval rating in November 2023.
The poll also revealed that 81% of residents do not support Adams seeking re-election in 2025, indicating widespread disenchantment with his leadership.
