History-making: Abolitionist Place Park opens in Downtown Brooklyn after 20-year journey * Brooklyn Paper
Briefly

Abolitionist Place park in Brooklyn, a 1.15-acre public park, has opened after 20 years of planning and various controversies. The park features native plants, colorful flowers, a water feature, playground, central lawn, and more.
The park borders Albee Square, Willoughby, and Duffield streets. The space was designed by Hargreaves Jones and landscaped by Wetlands. A public art display honoring the area's abolitionist past will be installed later.
Jennifer Cass, SVP of capital programs at the city's Economic Development Corporation, expressed joy in creating this green space for the community based on feedback received, including the addition of a dog run.
