Golden served in the City Council from 1970 to 1976 and was the Brooklyn Borough President from 1977 to 2001. He then served as the chair of the Brooklyn Democratic Party from 1984 to 1990.
The lifelong public servant's astute leadership transformed Brooklyn into the borough we know today by promoting its economic revival and significant revitalization, the Party said.
