'Emaciated' dog had eaten socks, rocks and a toy. Then came 'lifesaving' surgery in CA
Briefly

Brooklyn, an 8-year-old Cane Corso, arrived at Ventura County Animal Services emaciated (extremely thin). It was discovered she had ingested 8 socks, a toy, and several rocks which were likely preventing her from absorbing the nutrients she desperately needed.
In just a few days, Brooklyn gained nearly four (4) pounds...or six (6) pounds if you don't include the two (2) pounds of foreign objects removed from her stomach!
Our dedicated VCAS medical team worked tirelessly, providing care, love, and supplemental food to help Brooklyn recover.
A few days following her lifesaving surgery, Brooklyn was transferred to the West Coast Cane Corso Rescue in Northern California for continued care, recovery, and eventual adoption.
