D.W. French closes to make way for another MIDA location
Briefly

"D.W. French will always hold a special place in our hearts," Williams said in a press release. "At the same time, we are thrilled to bring MIDA to The Fenway and are excited for our local community and the many visitors to the neighborhood to experience MIDA's menu, which draws inspiration from the various regions of Italy and the simplicity of classic Italian cooking."
Williams noted that brasserie cuisine embodies a "love affair for repetition without it feeling boring," highlighting his approach to bringing authentic French dining to Boston.
Gerber highlighted that MIDA is an "ideal fit" for the neighborhood, suited to the evolving restaurant scene that benefits from the nearby attractions, particularly Fenway Park and the influx of university visitors.
The closure of D.W. French less than a year after opening, potentially influenced by neighborhood competition, reflects the challenges faced by new restaurants in saturated markets.
