Boston acquired Zack Short in a trade with the New York Mets, adding him to their active roster before the series finale against the Giants.
Enmanuel Valdez was sent down to Triple-A Worcester to make room for Zack Short, who will make his Red Sox debut playing second base.
Valdez, acquired at the 2022 trade deadline with Wilyer Abreu, struggled at the plate batting .156 before being optioned to the Triple-A team.
