Muriel Furrer, an 18-year-old cyclist from Switzerland, suffered a serious head injury during the women's junior road race at the UCI Road World Championships in Zürich, leading to her hospitalization.
A joint statement from the UCI, Swiss Cycling, and the Zurich 2024 Local Organizing Committee expressed their extreme concern, stating Furrer is in very critical condition after the incident.
