Juan Sebastián Molano of UAE Team Emirates claimed his first win of the season on stage 2 of the CRO Race in a closely contested sprint finish.
Molano executed a perfect strategy, closely following Sam Welsford before launching his attack against strong competition from Giovanni Lonardi and others in the final stretch.
Despite a strong effort, Welsford had to settle for third after an attempt to maneuver around Lonardi failed, showing the intense competition at the front.
Lonardi's second-place finish not only secured him six bonus seconds but also propelled him into the overall race lead, setting the stage for an exciting stage 3.
