Ken Loach and Mike Leigh resign as cinema patrons over Israeli film screening
Briefly

Both Loach and Leigh stood down as patrons due to the trust not taking action, after it went ahead with a private showing of Supernova: The Music Festival Massacre, a movie part of the Seret film festival, despite calls for a boycott.
Artists for Palestine UK claimed the festival was part of Israel's artwashing strategy to cover crimes against Palestinians. This led to a pro-Palestinian protest planned outside the cinema and red graffiti reading: Say no to artwashing.
A counter-protest by thousands of Israeli supporters gathered outside the venue with flags and placards to divert attention from the pro-Palestinian protest. The division and tension were evident during the event.
