Hernandez made his major league debut in 2023 appearing in four games before a forearm strain wiped out most of his season. He impressed in postseason workouts, landing on the Division Series roster.
Hernandez has pitched well at Gwinnett this season with a 1.65 ERA and 3.58 FIP in 16 1⁄3 innings, recording 22 strikeouts and nine walks. He can go multiple innings if needed.
