Despite it being the Angels, he didn't make their Opening Day roster, and was pitching for their Triple-A squad prior to his DFA and acquisition by the Braves.
Since being acquired, Herget hasn't exactly acquitted himself well for his new organization, with a 3.86 ERA, 4.32 FIP, and 4.85 xFIP in Gwinnett.
He's relief depth, and the Braves haven't actually used their relievers all that much, so the only reason to expect him to factor into game outcomes is the Braves' predilection for shoving pretty much anyone out there to safeguard their more prized relief arms.
