The Braves' offense was not fooled by Yankees' projected back-end starter Clarke Schmidt, scoring two first inning runs without any outs. AJ Smith-Shawver had an overall strong outing, despite giving up a couple of runs in the second.
Smith-Shawver battled back, striking out Judge twice and showcasing a fastball speed of a little over 96 MPH. Despite giving up some hits, he was largely unlucky on BABIP.
