UK sets sights on humanoid robot future | Computer Weekly
Briefly

The UK government has allocated £40m to establish a network of robotics adoption hubs as part of a 10-year industrial strategy. This funding signifies a significant commitment towards becoming a leader in robotics, alongside artificial intelligence efforts. Nevertheless, the development of humanoid robots remains nascent, with uncertainties regarding societal acceptance and affordability. The National Robotarium has called for the UK to produce robots to generate jobs and economic growth. An initiative involves creating a UK-wide network of robotic excellence centres linked with academic institutions and industry.
We need to move fast," Steve Maclaren, the CEO of the National Robotarium, said in the document.
These centres of excellence will form the hearts of robotics clusters to create new products powered by robotics and AI - to help people in their places of work and their homes," he stated in the policy document.
