Meta has launched an internal R&D division called Meta Superintelligence Labs (MSL), led by Alexandr Wang and Nat Friedman, former CEOs of Scale AI and GitHub. This division includes seven ex-OpenAI engineers. CEO Mark Zuckerberg stated that the mission of MSL is to deliver 'personal superintelligence for everyone.' Superintelligence, which is exponential beyond human intelligence, is viewed as a major advancement over artificial general intelligence (AGI). The term superintelligence was popularized by philosopher Nick Bostrum in 2014.
