State media reported the 'autonomous visual obstacle avoidance system' assessed the 'brightness and darkness of the lunar surface' to find a safe landing. The craft used a laser 3D scanner to detect obstacles and select the final landing site.
Singapore launched an open-source AI safety toolkit called Project Moonshot. It allows testing of generative AI safety, rating LLM applications against benchmarks like understanding slang and cultural nuance, to avoid producing offensive content.
