Other firms that have said they will use humanoid robots in their operations include Amazon, Tesla and Chinese car making giant BYD. The Atlas robots will gradually take on more tasks, said Hyundai."
"Atlas, which is designed for general industrial use, is being developed to work alongside people and autonomously manage machines. Hyundai said the robots will help ease physical strain on human workers, handle potentially dangerous tasks and pave the way for wider use of the technology. The firm did not say how many robots it would initially deploy or how much the project will cost."
Hyundai Motor Group plans to roll out Atlas humanoid robots in its factories from 2028 and integrate them across its global network, including a Georgia plant. Atlas, developed by Boston Dynamics, is designed for general industrial use to work alongside people and autonomously manage machines. Hyundai expects the robots to ease physical strain on workers, handle potentially dangerous tasks and enable wider technology adoption. The firm owns a majority stake in Boston Dynamics and did not disclose deployment numbers or project costs. Hyundai acknowledged job-loss concerns but said humans will be needed to train robots and perform other roles.
