Arm looks to generative AI models at the edge with Ethos-U85
Briefly

Arm introduces Ethos-U85 with a 4x performance boost and 20% greater power efficiency, configurable with 128 up to 2,048 multiply-accumulate units for up to 4 TOPs at 1 GHz.
"Machine learning inference has then been deployed to crunch the data that's been generated and find meaningful insights. And then AI has evolved from not only predicting the outcome, but also generating new data and further insights," said Paul Williamson, Arm's IoT Line of Business SVP & GM.
Arm's Ethos-U85 allows small embedded devices to support Transformer Networks and Convolutional Neural Networks, enabling new vision and generative AI applications, particularly in image classification and object detection.
