Appian 25.4 controls AI agents with Agent Studio
"The tool enables the deployment of AI agents that go beyond simple assistance. These agents can make independent decisions based on enterprise data and adapt to changing circumstances. Business users can specify what they want to achieve in natural language. The AI agents then use Appian's data fabric and tools to determine the best approach. With access to all enterprise data, the agents can make smarter decisions, interpret unstructured data, and make real-time adjustments."
"More than 130 organizations have already built over 1,300 applications with the tool. Composer is changing how organizations modernize applications by enabling users of all development levels to quickly turn ideas into working applications. The tool builds an interactive plan for user stories, data, processes, and user experiences. Composer provides business users, IT, and AI with a shared workspace for planning and designing applications together."
Appian made Agent Studio generally available in version 25.4 to enable organizations to deploy AI agents at scale that can reason, handle unexpected situations, and automate complex tasks. Early demonstrations at Appian World in April 2025 generated high customer interest, and a beta validated that Agent Studio is enterprise-ready and user-friendly. The agents can make independent decisions using enterprise data and adapt to changing circumstances. Business users can specify goals in natural language and agents use Appian's data fabric and tools to determine approaches, interpret unstructured data, and make real-time adjustments. Embedding agents in processes simplifies governance and retains organizational control. Appian Composer is also generally available and has enabled more than 130 organizations to build over 1,300 applications, providing an interactive planning workspace and one-click application generation for further customization.
