Denied Gabriel Martinelli a crucial second with a brilliant one-handed save. Alert defensively, although Martinelli got the best of him for a late chance. Played Kai Havertz a mile onside for the opening goal and then failed to track the run of Trossard. It was to prove the decisive error of the match.
Too easily beaten by Havertz for Trossard's goal but was otherwise played well, particularly with the ball. Helped to keep Bukayo Saka quiet and carried the ball out of defence well at times. Tidy and composed in possession in a more advanced midfield role.
Comfortable and elegant in possession and worked hard up and down the right flank. Shame he was forced off injured with 20 minutes to go. Wasted an early sight of goal when he lost his footing and barely had a sniff afterwards in an anonymous display.
