Milan confirmed the departure of head coach Stefano Pioli after securing a second-placed finish in Serie A. Pioli won the Serie A title in the 2021-22 season, but Milan couldn't defend it this term, finishing 19 points behind Inter. His final game will be against Salernitana after leading Milan for four-and-a-half years since October 19.
"Stefano's professionalism and human touch significantly contributed to the squad's growth," reads a club statement. Pioli expressed gratitude for the opportunity and thanked the ownership, management, team, staff, and fans. He won 59.3% of his 182 Serie A games for Milan, averaging two points per game.
