Radically changing how we interact with all forms of technology in an increasingly digital will likely be more paradigm shifting than the launch of the internet, making the responsibility these companies hold that much greater. I have respect for Google's hesitancy to release their tech, however, as with all ethical questions there needs to be some balance with utility. Only time will tell if OpenAI's launches have been too hasty. #AI #OpenAI #LargeLanguageModels #Innovation #Ethics

Very very interesting @MadelynatTonic - so much that I am curious about:
1) Is there any more writing on the subject of ethics and utility? So thought-provoking.
2) How do you think we will radically change our relationship with technology in a way more that's more consequential than the launch of the internet?
3) Do you measure the launch of the internet as the beginning of the digital age?

That's a very interesting discussion. It's still early to know which path we should take...

OpenAI almost certainly launched at the right time for themselves, as a company with growth ambitions. They can now raise whatever they want at a bonkers valuation and take offers from the largest tech co's. The underlying tech however .. so many ways for it to be deployed and I don't see how companies (or individuals) are going to introduce something like algorithmic accountability into the system.

How is an individual company supposed to influence the trajectory or cadence of innovation in a domain? OpenAI was at beast a few months ahead of the competition.

That's a great question @PacoPu I hope they find it but not by way of some kind of monopoly. cc: @micshasan
