When Jeff Bezos started Amazon, Barnes & Noble wasn't pouring billions into machine learning or cloud infrastructure. That will put total investment in the next few years into the trillions of dollars.

Amazon is taking significant steps to strengthen its position in the AI sector by increasing investments in Anthropic to integrate Claude Opus 4 AI into its platforms. This strategy aims to enhance AWS and retail experiences, marking Amazon as a formidable competitor in the AI landscape, competing directly with major players like Microsoft and Google.

The US Department of Justice assured tech giants like Google, Apple, and Amazon that they would not face legal repercussions for their dealings with TikTok.

"Despite the threats, the EU has pressed ahead with enforcement of its digital antitrust rules, with recent fines against Apple Inc. and Meta Platforms Inc. of 500 million and 200 million respectively."
