Streecha, a longstanding Ukrainian community center and restaurant in the East Village, has permanently closed.

The closure was due to the property owner deciding to take a different direction, prompting the team to search for a new partner and location.

Streecha was a unique establishment with a homely feel, known for its traditional Ukrainian dishes and role in raising money for St. George's Ukrainian Catholic Church. [ more ]
