Luminescent bees with 'unusual metallic reflections' are discovered as new species
Three new species of luminescent bees have been discovered in California and Arizona.
The bees have unusual metallic reflections that set them apart from other bees in the region.
The study was able to identify and name the new bees, thanks in part to the collection of specimens by Philip Hunter Timberlake, a renowned entomologist. [ more ]
