Two things about me: I love decorating my small apartment for Christmas, and I didn't grow up with a real Christmas tree. When I was growing up in Texas, my mom always said that getting a real Christmas tree was a waste - that they died way too quickly that far south of the Northeast (I think she just didn't want to clean up the pine needles).

Decorating my yard and painting pumpkins was a Halloween tradition in my family growing up, but now that I'm in my own smaller space, I'm constantly looking for mess-free ways to bring in some fall spirit. A key aspect of fall decor for my apartment is making sure that it's versatile enough to keep up through Thanksgiving (or even the first snowfall).
