The 50-foot oak that towered over Valencia and 18th for at least 30 years is now a stump
The silk oak tree at Valencia and 18th streets was cut down due to safety concerns and to prevent disruption to foot traffic.
The decision to cut down the tree was made after it was deemed a hazard following discussions with multiple supervisors at San Francisco Public Works. [ more ]
