OAKLAND Office vacancy levels are rising in the Oakland area, but rents are also on the uptick as the real estate market confronts uncertainties over a wobbly economy, high prices and rising interest rates.The Oakland-area office vacancy rate was 18.6% during the October-through-December fourth quarter of 2022, according to a new report from CBRE, a commercial real estate firm.

East Bay auto dealer site lands Bay Area owner in new real estate deal

SAN LEANDRO A Northern California vehicle sales group has bought an East Bay auto dealership site from a unit of one of Detroit's Big Three automakers.The group, acting through an affiliate, paid $11.9 million to buy a San Leandro site where an auto dealership operates at 1444 Marina Boulevard, according to the buyer, an affiliate that's headed up by vehicle sales executive Carlos Hidalgo.

Essential San Francisco Brewery Cellarmaker Is Leaving SoMa and Taking Production to the East Bay

The new year will bring some big changes to what's arguably San Francisco's best brewery.According to an Instagram post on Thursday, Cellarmaker Brewing Co. will close its original Howard Street location at the end of the year and move its production to the East Bay.The brewery has acquired Berkeley's the Rare Barrel, which opened in 2013 as a sour-beer lover's paradise.
