It features six Democratic lawmakers who previously held positions in the military and intelligence services: Kelly, Representatives Chris Deluzio and Chrissy Houlahan of Pennsylvania, Representative Maggie Goodlander of New Hampshire, Representative Jason Crow of Colorado and Senator Elissa Slotkin of Michigan. Slotkin wrote on X in a post accompanying the video that they wanted to speak directly to members of the military and the intelligence community. The American people need you to stand up for our laws and our Constitution. Don't give up the ship, Slotkin wrote.
Gallego said he trusts them a lot but there will be fallout if they punish Kelly. Donald Trump is going to be gone in a couple years, Gallego said. And if you're part of the military that is going after sitting senators, sitting members of Congress, and part of the weaponization of government, there will be consequences, without a doubt.
"Your continued threats will not intimidate me or keep me from doing my job, which includes oversight of the executive branch," Kelly said on X Sunday. "Stop the threats of execution, hanging, and sending a mob before someone gets hurt." Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) said last week: "I've never seen a president or heard of a president who has done more to encourage political violence."
