Peter is a weird guy and a bit younger than Agnes, but he's polite and willing to keep her company, to drink her wine and smoke some crack. (He won't snort powder cocaine, though: that stuff is bad for you, he explains.) And then he wakes up with a bug bite. When Agnes can't see a bug that he points at, frantically, he urges her to look closer. She does-and maybe she sees something.
It's usually true that putting your phone down and walking away to touch grass is an effective way to weather an internet shitstorm. Unfortunately for Tallulah, it's also true that if you're even quasi-famous in Los Angeles, it's never quite that simple. Paulena's scathing TikTok about Tallulah being a fugly slut thief is an earthquake that shakes Tallulah and Maia to their cores; "Girl's Girl" traces the ripple effect of the aftershocks. For Maia, this is a make-or-break professional crisis.
But "Bahdl Harmon Birthplace (Disputed)" is the strongest episode yet - arguably the first to truly prioritize the central character study of Ron Trosper - and backstory is a big part of that. Credit the script by former SNL co-head writer and The Other Two co-creator Sarah Schneider, who deploys flashbacks to perfect use and delivers an absolute wallop of an ending.
There is still a storyline here; in fact, there are several ongoing threads, and I'm sensing that some seemingly throwaway scenes and interactions might remain relevant much later in the season. Broadly speaking, the plot follows a man who thinks he has discovered some sort of criminal conspiracy related to a chair company, then starts to lose control of his life as he travels deeper and deeper down the rabbit hole. That's easy to get our heads around, even if some of the detours aren't.
