The two games affected include the Maple Leafs' game vs the Carolina Hurricanes on Thursday, December 4, which was supposed to start at 7:30 pm EST and will now be starting at 7:00 pm EST. This is game #431 of the NHL season and it will be the second meeting between the Maple Leafs and Hurricanes of the season, with Toronto hosting Carolina on Sunday, November 9. The Hurricanes are currently 6-2-0 and were the last undefeated team in the league after starting the season 5-0-0.
He was great for us. I learned a lot from him. He's a super human and a really good coach. We were very happy that he got another head job in Seattle. They're playing really good defense and aren't giving up much. They take care of the middle of the ice really well. They have some good young players over there. To me, they're defending really well.
The San Jose Sharks placed defenseman Timothy Liljegren on injured reserve on Thursday. Liljegren sustained an upper body injury in the Sharks' 5-1 loss to the Carolina Hurricanes on Tuesday, and will not be eligible to return until Oct. 22, meaning he will miss at least the next three games. The Sharks travel to play the Utah Mammoth on Friday, host the Pittsburgh Penguins on Saturday, and begin a four-game road trip against the New York Islanders on Tuesday.
Pierre-Luc Dubois, who was manning the team's second line with wingers Aliaksei Protas and Tom Wilson, left the ice at Madison Square Garden late in the third period. Capitals head coach Spencer Carbery did not have much of an update on Dubois' status postgame. "Yeah, we'll evaluate him and see where he's at," Carbery said. "Left the game and did not return."
