There is a kind of role that I've always wanted to play that I feel like I'm getting to play for the first time, which is kind of a cocky, quick *sshole. I watched Chris Pine do a role when I was a teenager in this play Fat Pig that's that. This Is Our Youth has that. Glengarry Glen Ross has Ricky Roma, especially, has that.

Bea is a neighborhood favorite. A mere 12-14 minute walk west from Times Square gives you enough distance to breathe normally again. Inside, it's low-lit and lively, with servers and bartenders who manage the pre-theater rush like they've seen it all a million times. The bar program is what sets Bea apart from others of its ilk with a short but sweet cocktail menu offering novelty and fun.
This year, we opted to sort our spring guide into categories, the better to match your mood. There are the shows everyone's talking about - big names like Duchamp and Raphael (seriously, how is this the first major survey of his in the city?), Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera. There are major surveys, like the New Museum's inaugural show in its expanded building, MoMA PS1's Greater New York triennial, and of course, the Whitney Biennial.
We decided this could be an opportunity to design something specifically for those theatergoers, and maybe many others who may have been reluctant to attend on their own. This is not 'singles night.' If a meaningful connection happens, that's a bonus. But at the end of the day, it's really about being comfortable going solo to a show and enjoying it with people who have that same experience.
