Crawford (42-0, 31 KOs) defeated then-No. 8 Canelo Alvarez by unanimous decision in Las Vegas on Saturday, and the victory catapulted him from the No. 3 spot all the way to the top. It was a brilliant performance by Crawford, who moved up two weight classes to challenge Canelo for the undisputed super middleweight championship. The win also made Crawford the only men's fighter in the four-belt era (since 2007) to be undisputed champion in three divisions (junior welterweight, welterweight and super middleweight).
