Absolut Vodka has unveiled the latest in its iconic artist collaboration series with a striking homage to Pop Art legend, Keith Haring. With a custom bottle and immersive gallery experience taking over Charing Cross tube station (aptly renamed 'Haring Cross'), the brand champions Haring's mission to make art accessible for all. After a triumphant Warhol collaboration back in 2024, Absolut was left questioning how it could top its previous project.
Deb Dasgupta, Absolut Vodka's VP Global Marketing, said about the installation: 'Absolut has always believed that art should be open, joyful and for everyone. Keith Haring's work radiated that belief - full of energy, colour and hope. 'With Absolut Haring, we're inviting a new generation to celebrate that spirit in a public space - in an underground station that reflects and connects to the subways that inspired Haring more than forty years ago.'
Charing Cross tube station will be giving away free pop-art posters by the American artist, Keith Haring next week, as well as displaying two of his artworks in the UK for the first time. Haring was an artist who was probably best known for his "dancing men" motifs, and often worked on public artworks for community centres rather than the mainstream galleries. Not totally adverse to money, he also took on commercial commissions, and one in 1986 was to design two paintings for Absolut Vodka.
"We were very excited to announce a $51 million investment to reconstruct the historic Tony Dapolito outdoor pool in Manhattan, including the preservation of the beloved mural created by famed artist Keith Haring."
