Supreme Court's actions and decisions are increasingly scrutinized, revealing issues of transparency and significant impacts on civil rights and electoral processes.
The General Medical Council (GMC) opened an investigation into concerns about Prof Peter Hindmarsh, including that he had harmed patients, on the first day he gave evidence at Letby's trial in late 2022. The GMC investigation was still continuing when Hindmarsh gave evidence for a second time at the Letby trial three months later.
But that's what a bunch of judges did - anonymously - to NBC News about the foreshadowed shadow docket. (Yes, we will continue to refer to SCOTUS's emergency docket as the shadow docket- a term penned by Professor William Baude from the University of Chicago, no matter the desires of Brett Kavanaugh because it more accurately reflects the shady ass shit the Court is doing with it.)
Justice Minister Jim O'Callaghan emphasized the necessity for public trust in the justice system, stating the in-camera rule's secrecy raises potential issues and concerns.
