John Brooks Slaughter, the first Black director of the National Science Foundation, first Black chancellor of the University of Maryland, and first Black president of Occidental College, passed away at the age of 89.
Dr. Slaughter was renowned for championing diversity, inclusion, and improving educational opportunities for women and students of color. [ more ]
