He Made a Magazine, 95 Issues, While Hiding From the Nazis in an Attic

Curt Bloch, a German Jew hiding in the Netherlands during Nazi occupation, created a satirical poetry magazine called Het Onderwater Cabaret (The Underwater Cabaret).
Bloch used pens, glue, newspapers, and other materials provided by his helpers to produce 95 issues of the magazine from 1943 to 1945. [ more ]

Historian wins $50,000 Wolfson History Prize for book about resistance movements fighting the Nazis

Historian Halik Kochanski has won the Wolfson History Prize for her book 'Resistance', which covers Jewish and other resistance movements against the Nazis in Europe.
