Dozens of Palestinian prisoners have died in Israeli prisons over the past two and a half years, some during torture while others as a result of medical neglect by prison authorities, rights groups say. Now, Israel is making plans for the execution of possibly hundreds of Palestinian prisoners held on charges of fatal attacks against Israelis, according to an Israeli media report, under what legal experts have called racist legislation that has rattled the families of thousands of Palestinians in Israeli jails.

At least one of the group knew a crime was being committed and intervened, not to stop the torture but to prevent its documentation. Al-Saei said he heard the man warning others don't take a photo, don't take a photo as they attacked. He bled from his rectum for more than three weeks after the assault, which happened soon after he was detained in February 2024.

Twenty-eight doctors from Gaza are being held inside Israeli prisons, including senior consultants, with significant numbers detained for over 400 days without charges.
