Resentments within the Free Democratic Party (FDP) have been growing, with the party suffering defeats in state and local elections. Some members believe that the FDP should exit the coalition government, which they believe is holding them back.
A recent survey of FDP party members showed that 52% voted to remain in the coalition government, providing a temporary boost for the party leadership.
