IMD plans to use AI to better forecasts; admits predicting severe weather events challenging
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) plans to use artificial intelligence and machine learning to improve its weather forecasting capabilities.
The IMD has formed an expert group on AI-ML and is collaborating with institutions for joint development of tools to improve forecast accuracy. [ more ]
