Share of at-home workers dips from pandemic-era peak

Across state agencies, hybrid work now a post-pandemic fixture

Nearly 40,000 state government workers in New York have not fully returned to their offices, including 2,500 employees who work completely remote.
Some labor unions are advocating for more hybrid work schedules, citing increased efficiency and the ability to compete with remote private sector jobs.
The number of state workers in Albany has increased to 94% of pre-pandemic levels, but commuting is now down to an average of three-and-a-half days per week. [ more ]
