China Says It Detained a Foreign Consultant for Spying for Britain
China's top intelligence agency has detained the head of an overseas consulting agency for allegedly working as a spy for the British government.
The detained consultant, identified with the surname Huang, was allegedly recruited and trained by MI6 and provided the British government with 14 state secrets.
This incident marks the first time that China has publicly accused Britain of espionage, and comes after the arrest of a researcher suspected of spying for Beijing in Britain. [ more ]
