Joseph Wright of Derby uses extreme tenebrism to dramatize scientific experiments, portraying moments of intellectual and moral revelation in nocturnal scenes.
At one point, a new Linux distribution came into being that made use of Enlightenment as its only desktop environment -- Bodhi Linux. After some time with Enlightenment, the primary developer decided to fork the DE and created Moksha. Moksha is still in the vein of Enlightenment, only with a dash more user friendliness. It offers a vast amount of configurations and a menu that can be accessed from anywhere on the desktop with a left mouse click.
Back in the early 2000s, Enlightenment was my desktop of choice. To this day, Enlightenment is still an option, and it's one that remains just as fun and unique to use. Also: MX Linux has an old-school look and feel. Here's why it's so popular Back in those days, I had to install Enlightenment manually, because there were no distributions that offered it as a default.
But there's bad news for those who prefer to avoid Lennart Poettering's all-encompassing system management suite. As the version 23.5 announcement puts it, it uses: Systemd init on the live session and subsequent installs. Although I personally am ambivalent and apolitical about Linux init systems it is a fact that Enlightenment Desktop Environment is designed, developed and deployed with systemd in mind.
ROBERT WALDINGER: I am a Zen practitioner and I'm an ordained Zen priest, and I'm a Zen teacher. I'm actually a Roshi, a Zen master. And so I meditate every day. I teach meditation here in the United States and actually internationally, it's a big part of my life. And what I find is that it is an enormous benefit in terms of how I think about my own life, other people's lives, how I think about my research, how I think about working with patients.
In Mahayana Buddhism, sunyata - often translated as "emptiness" - doesn't mean that nothing matters. It means nothing exists with a permanent essence. Everything is constantly changing and without fixed self-nature. Seeing through the illusion of an enduring, separate self can be liberating.
