London: Fears mental health calls going unattended
Mental health callouts in London are now being dealt with by the NHS instead of the police, unless there is a risk of serious harm.
The change in approach has led to a decrease in the number of arrests made under Section 136 of the Mental Health Act, but concerns have been raised about where those individuals are now receiving support. [ more ]
