AI, like Google Maps, provides the "prediction" of the best route, but the "judgement" of the destination remains with the driver (Author x Gemini) Yet when it comes to using AI for decisions, I see people paralysed by exactly these fears. This ranges from choosing what to study to planning a career move to even planning an article. "Is this cheating?" "Will I lose my critical thinking skills?" or "Am I even thinking for myself anymore?"

Lately, I have been feeling a little FOBO. With the rise of AI, I worry about my contribution to the field. My FOBO stems from another FOBO: If my clients and my editor start opting for better, faster, and cheaper options, what happens to me? I can feel my FOBLO rising. Given my FOPO, my FOMU will probably trigger FODA. I won't change, I won't adapt, I won't do anything, leaving me with full-blown FOBA in a world that has already moved on.

Kathryn Bigelow has reopened the subject that we all tacitly agree not to discuss or imagine, in the movies or anywhere else: the subject of an actual nuclear strike. It's the subject which tests narrative forms and thinkability levels. Maybe this is why we prefer to see it as something for absurdism and satire a way of not staring into the sun to remember Kubrick's (brilliant) black comedy Dr Strangelove, with no fighting in the war room etc, rather than Lumet's deadly serious Fail Safe.
