“I was crossing the road. I was not crossing the racetrack,” Nancy Iskander testified Tuesday in the civil wrongful death trial against her son's convicted killer, Rebecca Grossman, and former Dodgers pitcher Scott Erickson. The lawsuit seeks $100 million from Grossman, Erickson and their insurance companies.
Originally scheduled to start March 9, 2026, the It Ends With Us trial now starts on May 18, per . Judge Lewis J. Liman of the Southern District of New York explained that two criminal trials that "take precedent" over a civil trial. The next hearing is on January 22, and Judge Liman reportedly told the parties at a post-discovery hearing on December 9 to talk about settlements, if needed.
The woman who filed the complaint is named Vanessa LeMaistre, and she sued Metro Boomin for battery, sexual battery, and multiple violations of California's civil codes. In court, she testified that she decided to file the lawsuit after a therapy session involving ayahuasca in Peru in 2024. "I recall being instructed from the medicine that this is the root of your issues for the past 10 years, this incident with the defendant," LeMaistre said, according to reporter Meghann Cuniff.
