New York Governor Kathy Hochul wants to make it law to provide up to 40 hours of paid medical leave during pregnancy.

Hochul also plans to eliminate cost-sharing for maternal medical expenses, streamline access to doulas, and reduce unnecessary C-sections. [ more ]

Women who have had a C-section have a 10% decreased likelihood of conceiving again compared with those who had vaginal deliveries.

Women who take at least a year to conceive are 21% more likely to be delivered by C-section compared to women who got pregnant in less than a year. [ more ]
