Atlanta Falcons running back Bijan Robinson has been the most dynamic player in the league, shredding defenses as a runner and a receiver. Monday Night Football was the perfect opportunity to showcase his skills to the world, and the back did not disappoint. Bijan's 81-yard touchdown is the longest rushing touchdown this season, and the game-breaking run was the last feather needed in Robinson's cap.
Since the start of the Jonathan Gannon era (2023 to now), Jacoby Brissett is the quarterback who has thrown for the most passing yards in a single game. And, he did it against the league's fourth-ranked scoring defense. So this begs the important question: why do they need Kyler Murray? He doesn't elevate his team or make the guys around him better, as proven by the embarrassing loss they suffered at the hands of the Titans.
It doesn't feel real, but the Atlanta Falcons offense is completely showing out against the Washington Commanders in front of the home crowd. Add another passing touchdown to Michael Penix's day, making it two on the day, this one to Kyle Pitts on a rollout, completing an explosive 2-play, 76-yard drive. While it is a relief to see Pitts back in the end zone again, he probably shouldn't have even had the chance.
The anticipation for Michael Penix's first full season as a starting quarterback continues to grow. There is plenty of intrigue behind what someone so uniquely gifted can do in an offense filled with playmakers. While expectations should always be measured with a young player, it's reasonable to think a special season could be on the horizon for the former eighth overall pick.
