Coastal North Bay including Point Reyes National Seashore, San Francisco Peninsula Coast and Southern Monterey Bay and Big Sur Coast as well as San Francisco County are under a high surf advisory which was issued by the National Weather Service on Monday at 11:43 p.m. The advisory is valid from Thursday 1 a.m. until Friday Jan. 9, at 10 p.m.
Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible from multiple lines of showers and thunderstorms, strong at times, moving across the area. Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas, the NWS said.
