Meta's new accelerator for European AI startups could be a blessing or a curse
Meta announced its second AI startup accelerator in Europe, partnering with Hugging Face and Scaleway to support startups integrating open-source foundation models.
The initiative aims to select five startups for technical mentoring by Meta's AI research lab and provide access to Hugging Face's platform and Scaleway's AI infrastructure.
Meta is positioning the accelerator to foster the adoption of open-source AI in Europe to address the dominance of Chinese and American AI companies in the region.
Applications for the accelerator are open until August 16, with the program scheduled to run from September 2024 to February 2025. [ more ]
